What is TAB?
The South Pasadena Public Library Teen Advisory Board (TAB) is a small group of teens, grades 8-12, dedicated to helping out and improving the library. Teens earn community service hours by attending meetings, volunteer sessions and events during the school year. Some of the ways we help include:
- Assisting library staff with projects, outreach assistance and library events with Children's Services as needed.
- Suggesting ideas for the Teen Zone improvement and books or movies that they would want to see in the library.
- Re-stocking the Little Free Library.
- Represent teens during community library programs and be a voice for teens within the library.
TAB will meet three times as a group throughout the semester on Wednesday afternoons. A special TAB-sponsored event will be held each semester. Outside of required meeting attendance, TAB members will need to volunteer at least once a month at the library in order to be part of TAB.
If you have any questions, please feel contact Children's Services at childrenlibrarian@southpasadenaca.gov or call 626-403-7330.
