Retirement and Deferred Compensation
The City offers has multiple Plans to assist employees in retirement savings. The Voluntary 457 Deferred Compensation Plan is offered through Empower and it provides a convenient way for City employees to save money for retirement with pre-tax earnings. This voluntary plan allows employees to supplement any existing retirement or pension benefits.
The City contributes 1% of employee's base salary to their deferred compensation plan.
This plan includes a Plan Advisor to provide one-on-one counseling with personalized account services at no cost to you, such as:

- Retirement readiness
- Investment choices
- Account review
- comparing of retirement plans
- Rollovers
